5 MUST-WATCH VIDEOS THIS INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

Copy of Untitled Design (5)

It's widely known that more gender diversity is required in the workplace, specifically in leadership roles and seats on boards, which are commonly filled by men. But why has progress towards gender diversity been so slow? Has there been too much noise, causing people to glaze over it or do individuals think the problem is far bigger than them and left the all-important job to organisations to fix?

Either way, it's clear that a big component of pushing along gender diversity is knowledge and education. Once each individual fully understands that they are the solution to the problem, we will finally be able to hurry up history.

With that in mind, we have done the research for you and gathered 5 must-watch videos, providing all important information on gender diversity.

Sheryl Sandberg: Why we have too few women leaders | TED Talk

Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg looks at why a smaller percentage of women than men reach the top of their professions and offers 3 powerful pieces of advice to women aiming for the C-suite.

Kirsten Hall: Women in business: entirely unremarkable | TED Talk

Kirsten Hall has a provocative question: is it time to stop celebrating women in business, just for being women in business? Maybe, she suggests, we can wind down the idea of corporate women's groups - and position women in business as the new normal.

Emily Pilloton-Lam: What if women built the world they want to see? | TED Talk

Only four percent of construction workers are female - that's totally unacceptable, but it's also a huge opportunity both for women and for the trades, says youth educator and builder Emily Pilloton-Lam. She makes the case for putting power (and power tools) into the hands of young women and gender-expansive youth, dreaming of inclusive construction sites and daring to ask: What if women built the world they want to see?

Hanna Rosin: New data on the rise of women | TED Talk

Hanna Rosin reviews startling new data that shows women actually surpassing men in several important measures, such as college graduation rates. Do these trends, both US-centric and global, signal the "end of men"? Probably not, but they point toward an important societal shift worth deep discussion.

Elizabeth Nyamayaro: An invitation to men who want a better world for women | TED Talk

Around the world, women still struggle for equality in basic matters like access to education, equal pay and the right to vote. But how to enlist everyone, men and women, as allies for change? Meet Elizabeth Nyamayaro, head of UN Women's HeForShe initiative, which has created more than 2.4 billion social media conversations about a more equal world. She invites us all to join in as allies in our shared humanity.
