LEGO® Masters Australia is well under way for 2023. If you haven't tuned in, we highly recommend that you do as one of Schlam's very own takes part in this popular TV competition.
Owen first took part in Season 3 of LEGO® Masters Australia, alongside his long-time friend Scott, narrowly missing out on the sought-after title. Whilst being runners up is still an incredible achievement, they are back for more in Season 5, as they chase their first LEGO® Masters title.
'Watching Season 2 of the show, it looked like a lot of fun and an awesome opportunity for adventure. I came across the Facebook ad for applications, so I thought why not - nothing ventured nothing gained!" Owen said.
Outside of the LEGO® world, Owen is the Manufacturing Manager at Schlam, bringing his extensive knowledge and background in Engineering.
'I believe LEGO® really set me up for a career in engineering and fabrication,' Owen said.
'With the basics of practical problem solving, sound geometric understanding, as well as a physical and tactile tools for understanding the way forces flow through objects. All these skills are invaluable in the workflow and delivery of Schlam's Payload Solutions.'
LEGO® Masters: Grand Masters is well over halfway through the season. With the finale set to air next week, Owen reflects on his experience in not one but two season with the franchise.
'My biggest take away from my time on the show, is somewhat in line with the Schlam moto, to "Aim Higher". Even if we weren't sure we could do it, or if we had never done anything like it before, with effort and perseverance we shocked ourselves time and time again by what we were able to deliver,' Owen said.
Make sure to tune in to Channel 9, on Sunday 30th April, Monday 1st May and Tuesday 2nd May, and join us as we cheer on Owen and Scott, and find out who will become Australia's first ever Grand Masters!
