HELPING OUR CLIENTS TO SUPPORT LOCAL CHARITIES

Picture1-2

Schlam's success can be attributed to product innovation and working 'stronger together', especially with our clients. Recently we assisted the Hunter Valley Operations (HVO) mine in NSW to support local charities and community groups.

The first three of five new Komatsu 930-E dump trucks were recently delivered to HVO - all of which have been specified with our world class Hercules tray.

Each tray will feature a Hunter based charity, all of which make a positive difference to the health and welfare of HVO employees, their families and the local community.

Three of the trucks have now started work at the mine, with the remaining two due to arrive on site by the end of the year.

The trays of the first three trucks have been painted and branded in the colours of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, Hunter Prostate Cancer Alliance and Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation. The final two trays will feature other charities.

The charities will receive an agreed donation for every load the trucks haul, paid annually, plus other fundraising support throughout the year.

HVO General Manager Tony Morris, said HVO wanted to extend it's charity and community support in a meaningful way. He said better aligning operations and community support is part of HVO's new pillars and values of thinking sharp, digging in and caring.

"We want to build partnerships with each charity that includes sharing information about their services with our workforce and undertaking other fundraising, and support activities for them throughout the year" Mr Morris said.

Schlam's sales and manufacturing teams worked closely with HVO to develop designs that would help promote the charities.

"We're proud to support the local charities and HVO by incorporating their colours and messages onto our trays," said Ben Baker, General Manager - Sales and Business Development. "Our trays make a great medium for getting vital community messages out on-site, and we're glad to be able to help make the initiatives happen."
